an art investigator, specialized in graphic humor and
I’m from Portugal. I have been responsible for some
projects in the cartoon area. 25 years of hard work,
always trying to understand the essence of humor.

1) When was your Festival created?
2) Who did create it? An organization or any specific
person?
3) Was its first Director a cartoonist or an art
investigator? Is it still the same?
4) Were there any other festivals in your country at
the time? If yes, which ones? And how many are today?

5) Do you have any kind of dispute with them or is
there a friendly relationship?
6) How do you choose the themes for your festival?
7) Who finances it? Do you still have the same
financial supports that helped to create the festival?
Do you have any kind of help from private companies or
are they afraid of the consequences of humor?
What about political power? Does it give you any
kind of support? Do you have any kind of relationship
with it? Does it press you about the themes, about the
freedom of speech?
9) What kind of relationship do you have with the
local press? Does it financially supports you? Do they
broadcast any news concerning your festival? Do you
think that they give you stimulation or just ignore
you?
10) Is there any humoristic press in your country?

11) How do the artists participate in your festival?
Is the number of artists increasing or diminishing?
12) Do you believe that the themes and the prices may
influence the participation of the artists? Or do you
believe that it is the quality of the catalogue, the
return of the drawings or the set up of the exhibition
that makes them to participate?
13) How does the public normally react? Do you think
there are now more visitors in your exhibitions? What
do they appreciate more?
14) Has humor changed across the years? In your
country, which are the most important aspects of
humor?
